Product Applications of Piroctone Olamine CAS 68890-66-4
Piroctone Olamine is a popular cosmetic active ingredient with broad-spectrum antifungal and antibacterial properties. Its primary application is as a mild anti-dandruff agent for hair care, added into anti-dandruff shampoo, conditioner, scalp tonic and leave-on scalp serums to relieve itching, reduce flaking and regulate scalp sebum. It is also applied in skincare formulas such as facial cleansers, body washes and anti-acne gels for fungal-related skin issues.
Besides hair and skin care, it can serve as auxiliary preservative in cosmetic formulations, and used in deodorants and foot care products to inhibit microbes. This raw material is widely accepted in global cosmetic markets and compatible with most surfactant systems.
